As we already know that the revolution of planets around sun is in egg shaped path. Also the planets revolve around their own axis which is passing through their centres. The rotation of the planet and time period of rotation of a planet can be determined only by observing the mountains, patches etc present over the surface of planet with the help of scientific objects like telescope.
After conducting some experiments the final results were found. According to which, only Venus and Uranus were two planets whose rotation was from East to west. Except these, other planets rotate from west to east. A particular name called ‘Retrograde’ was given to the rotation from East to west. 23 hours and 58.1 is the rotation time of our earth around its own north-south axis from West to East.
