The whole amount of charge on a body is the algebraic sum of total no of charges scattered anywhere on the body. Be careful while taking the algebraic sum, the sign of the charges must be taken. E.g. When +2q and +q charges on a body are added then the total charge becomes 3q. Whereas when charges –q and +2q are added then the result will be +q.
Hence it shows that electric charge is addictive.
