The dugesia are also known as planaria. It occurs in fresh water. They belong to class turbellaria. It moves over stones and debris for the search of food. They are carnivorous and food is ejected by pharynx. They undergo sexual as well as asexual reproduction. They have a great power of regeneration. Their head is blunt with the couple of lobes, eyes and auricular processes. These are present on dorsal side. On ventral side they have adhesive zone which helps in the attachment of worm to the substratum. It also consists of mouth and genital aperture. They do not have anus.
